- 30 ml Lemonade - Sparkling
- 30 ml Curaçao - Blue
- 30 ml Vodka
- 30 ml Curaçao - Blue
- 15 ml Lime Juice
- 30 ml Lemonade - Sparkling
- 60 ml Pineapple Juice
- 15 ml Lime Juice
- 30 ml Vodka
- 60 ml Pineapple Juice
Garnish
- Pineapple
- Maraschino Cherry
- Pineapple
- Maraschino Cherry
Tools & Glassware
- Bar spoon
Directions
- Chill the glass
- Fill glass with ice
- Add vodka, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, and lime juice
- Top with a splash of lemonade
- Stir gently
- Garnish with a pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry
History
The Tropical Blue Lagoon cocktail originated in the 1960s in Paris and became a global symbol of vibrant, tropical refreshment. It was invented at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris, a legendary venue known for classic cocktail creations. Credited to Andy MacElhone, son of famed bartender Harry MacElhone. It was created during the 1960s Tiki craze, when colourful, exotic cocktails surged in popularity.
