History

The Ocean Breeze Cocktail is a tropical drink that gained popularity in the 1980s, believed to have originated in the Caribbean. Its vibrant blue colour, achieved using Blue Curacao, is meant to resemble the crystal-clear waters of the ocean. This cocktail is often served at beach parties and summer gatherings, making it a favourite among those who enjoy fruity and visually appealing drinks. Interestingly, the Sea Breeze Cocktail, a different but similarly named drink, has a longer history dating back to the 1920s, originally made with gin and grenadine. Over time, it evolved into a vodka-based cocktail featuring cranberry juice and grapefruit juice, promoted by Ocean Spray in the 1960s.
