History
The Godmother cocktail is a simple yet elegant drink that emerged in the 1970s, alongside its whisky-based counterpart, the Godfather. The Godmother is believed to be a vodka-based sibling of the Godfather, which uses Scotch whisky instead of vodka. It gained popularity during the 1970s, a time when Amaretto liqueur was widely enjoyed in cocktails. Unlike the Godfather, which is often linked to Marlon Brando, the Godmother does not have a direct celebrity association.
