History
The Blue Lagoon cocktail is believed to have been created at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris by Andy MacElhone, the son of the famous bartender Harry MacElhone, in the 1960s or early 1970s. The drink predates the 1980 movie of the same name and was designed to be a refreshing, visually striking cocktail featuring vodka, blue curaçao, and lemonade. Its bright blue colour and tropical appeal have made it a popular choice at bars worldwide.
